The Year 2000 Photo Countdown is an alliance between Everything 2000 and the Millennium Picture Group, a nationwide partnership of photojournalists. Each weekday, the Everything 2000 Web site will feature a new image documenting how people and institutions are preparing for year 2000.

Maud Dillingham and her husband Cesar Becerra are nearing the end of a 50-state road trip throughout 1999 to take the pulse of America on the eve of the new Millennium. Their trip began in Miami Florida on January 1st 1999 and will end there on December 31, 1999 after traveling all the states in their station wagon. Yes, they traveled to Hawaii, but the wagon stayed on the mainland. They are heading down the east coast in their final leg to Florida. You can follow their progress at Motoring the Millennium.
