Photo courtesy of Karen Shomo Seattle's Space Needle was rented out five years ago for a private New Year's Eve party for several northwest families. That doesn't mean the Space Needle won't participate in New Year's Eve activities, it will. The Space Needle serves as Seattle's countdown clock. When the elevator reaches the top, fireworks explode off the roof and sides of the Space Needle making it a giant roman candle. This year, organizers are planning the biggest New Year's Eve fireworks show ever.
