Sharon Dennis of Seattle Washington is on an adventure most of us only dream about. She is spending an entire year, riding her bike around the world in a salute to the new millennium as part of the Odyssey 2000 Bike Ride- that's 366 Days 20,000 Miles 45 Countries, Los Angeles to Los Angeles, via the world. Of the 240 Odyssey 2000 participants, the oldest is 80, the youngest 17 with eight countries and 32 U.S. states represented. The trip began January 1, 2000 riding in the front of the Tournament of Roses Parade and will end exactly one year later..in the Tournament of Roses Parade. Sharon Dennis has spent her entire professional career as a television reporter, primarily in Orlando Florida and Seattle Washington. The 38 year-old excercise buff has covered hurricanes, the Gulf War and witnessed an execution. She thought this trip would allow her to be a participant instead of an observer. We at Everything2000 are delighted that Sharon has agreed to send us dispatches..when she can... from the trip.
